What do we know? Well, we know that Hangry’s loyalty program allows users to earn points during the mobile ordering process, which can then be redeemed for contests and prizes in the rewards store. But what we’re discussing today delves deeper into our loyalty program and how Hangry’s mobile app allows you to drive ordering behavior by placing points on Menu Modifiers.
What is a Modifier?
Modifiers are essentially a breakdown of menu options. For example, if bread is an option, then the modifiers would be white, whole grain, rye, etc. This means that sizes are also modifiers.
Modifiers: Small, Medium, Large
Modifiers: Cheddar, Swiss, American
How can you drive behaviour?
We’ve discussed before how Hangry’s platform allows you to place bonus points on menu items. This itself is an excellent feature to have because it allows you to encourage users to try new menu items, or items that maybe haven’t been performing well lately. But the ability to add bonus points to menu modifiers is going to get you one step further. To start, it’s a great marketing feature to have because it allows you to reward points to users for choosing certain options. This means you are able to drive menu-choosing behaviour even more. For example, you can encourage up-selling by placing points on a large drink instead of a small. Another example would be placing bonus points on the ‘add double the meat’ option for a Subway.
While users typically know what they’re craving when it comes to ordering a meal, this feature is going to provide that little extra incentive to encourage them to choose a different or bigger meal choice for the day. This will allow users to explore more of your menu, try new items, and ultimately up-sell.
