Ensure Seamless Mobile Ordering with Hangry’s Alpha & Beta Testing

Mobile Ordering is meant to make the food ordering process easier and more convenient. However, creating a seamless mobile ordering experience is far from easy. That is why Hangry implements both an Alpha and Beta testing round before fully launching to all your dining locations. Both of these testing rounds are put in place to ensure your mobile ordering team and your kitchen staff are prepared for whatever comes their way.

Alpha Testing 

Alpha is your first round of testing and puts a big focus on the kitchen operations. In Alpha, your admin team is able to make free orders to the system so the kitchen can get a feel for how the process is going to work. Once an order is placed, the kitchen will be able to see how the order shows up on the merchant tablet, and how a ticket is printed. The great thing about Alpha testing is that no payment is involved. You can make as many orders as you’d like, and really play around with the system so your kitchen staff and mobile ordering team can get a better understanding of the process.

Beta Testing 

Beta is where you can start testing with a small number of users (or limited number). What does this mean? Well, through the dashboard you are able to grant ‘test access’ to certain users. So if you’d like to start with a ‘soft launch’ of perhaps, 50 users; you are able to grant them access to your dining locations so they can place mobile orders and pay with their credit card, meal plan card etc. In the Beta testing round you are able to ease your kitchen staff into the mobile ordering process as practice, before launching campus-wide. This means that orders are being put through, the kitchen is making them, and the order is being paid for by the user. However, only the users with TEST access will be able to participate.

Granting Test Access to Users 

As we stated above, through Hangry’s dashboard you are able to select specific users and grant them ‘test access’ so they can make mobile orders while the system is in beta. To learn how to enable test access, feel free to view our in-depth tutorial here.
