Providing incentives for students to use your app is a great way to utilize your Loyalty Program. It’s also a great way to build a relationship with your users and keep them coming back to your app. But how can you use this point system to YOUR benefit? This is one of our favorite questions.
The Hangry Campus-Branded app gives you free reign with your rewards program and allows you to offer any rewards you’d like. However, we encourage you to be strategic and ensure both you and the customer are reaping the rewards. You need to frame your rewards store based on what you’d like to accomplish. What might that be? Well… we have some suggestions.
Perhaps you’d like to…
Increase meal plan usage?
Offering meal plan credit is an excellent way to keep students dining on campus. By offering this option in the rewards store, you are providing students with something they otherwise wouldn’t purchase themselves while also giving them a reason to continue dining on campus.
Drive higher margin items?
Placing points on higher margin items is your best bet. For example, you can offer students ‘double the points’ if they add bacon to their meal or order a larger drink.
Want students ordering items earlier in the day?
Use the points system again. You can start with push messaging or social media posts to let students know you’ll be offering extra points if they order before 10am. From here, the backend dashboard allows you to provide more points to every student who dines before that time. The same can be done for new dining locations, or any dining location you’d like to see more traffic at (give them more points if they dine there as opposed to somewhere else).
One of the main goals for the points system is to keep students dining on campus, and with the backend dashboard you are also able to intelligently understand your students’ buying behavior. Through Hangry’s data analytics dashboard, you are able to take buying information and use this data to create a better student experience (by offering what they want in your rewards store.) The best part is that this rewards program can span across all areas of your auxiliary services (i.e. the bookstore, sports events, retail, parking and more). You use the loyalty program to market what is important and the options are endless. Through the Loyalty and Rewards Program you are able to influence behavior or drive a certain action. You are in full control.
