Restaurant Location Manual Turn Off [Merchant Tablet]

During dining hours, your kitchen staff will always have access to the restaurant location manual turn-off from their tablet. This can be used in the case of an emergency, holiday, ordering issues, testing, etc. The location manual turn off is not something that all staff can access. Along with a few other features, this one is password protected. The reason is to avoid any operational issues whereby staff turn the tablet without good reason. This could be as simple as not wanting to serve customers via the mobile app. Instead, you’ll have to assign a manager password to the on site supervisor. Then, they have access to the on/off override, as well as refund approval, and more.

As a result, you can ensure operations are running smoothly and according to standards. The ability to turn the merchant tablet off can also be accessed via the dashboard. Typically, we don’t recommend turning the tablet off manually unless it’s absolutely necessary. We have made other features available for occasions such as holidays, where you can take advantage of scheduling as opposed to manual turn off.


  1. From the home screen, click your desired restaurant location on the left side.
  2. Next, go the Manual Override Section and switch Online from ON to OFF.

To turn the restaurant back on, simply toggle the button back to ON.
