Think of menu categories like the pages of a restaurant menu. These are the pages that your users will flip through when completing a mobile order. Within these categories will be menu sections. These are followed by menu items. Here is a a brief explanation:
Section: Soups, Salads, Share Plates
Menu Items: Chicken Noodle, Caesar Salad, Nachos
Section: Pasta, Pizza, Meat, Fish
Menu Items: Alfredo Linguini, Pepperoni and Cheese Pizza, Steak, Salmon
STEP BY STEP:
- Click Menus on the left toolbar.
- Click Sections at the top of the screen.
- You will see 3 different boxes each labeled (Category 1, 2 & 3).
- Click the text box, enter in your desired category name. Then, click the green check.
Once you’ve updated all category names, they will automatically update on a mobile device. After you’ve created your categories, your next step is to create menu sections. To learn how to create menu sections, click here. It’s very important to also look at the app when building out your menus. As a result, the app will flow best. Everything can be edited and changed as you see fit. We highly recommend that creating the menus is done thoroughly, by looking at both the dashboard and the app.
